Position Overview
A Cove Guardian is a trusted caregiver and guide who ensures children feel safe, supported, and inspired while in our care. This role is responsible for active supervision, facilitating play-based experiences, maintaining a clean and secure environment, and building strong relationships with families.

Key Responsibilities
Provide active supervision and engage children in age-appropriate play and learning experiences
Maintain compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers at all times
Ensure classroom ratios and safety procedures are consistently upheld
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized childcare environment
Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and emergency protocols
Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding their child’s day
Support the Cove Director in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and enrichment activities
Adapt to varying age groups, schedules, and daily operational needs
Maintain required documentation, incident reports, and state-mandated training
Model professionalism, kindness, patience, and positive guidance strategies
Demonstrate a team-first mindset with flexibility to support broader operations when needed (including but not limited to café support, inventory assistance, event coordination etc.)
Required Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED
Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting requirements
Meet all Texas Child Care Licensing requirements for employment
Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children throughout the day
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Genuine passion for supporting children and families
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in licensed childcare, early childhood education, camp, tutoring, or similar setting
CDA credential or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Experience working with multiple age groups (infants through school-age)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
